Motivations

At DSEC, we focus on understanding how energy consumers respond to different pricing and non-pricing instruments and how this knowledge can be used to alter energy consumption patterns.

Through our research, we aim to contribute to developing a sustainable and resilient energy system that can meet the needs of present and future generations while making customers better off. Our research findings have the potential to inform energy policy and decision-making at local, regional, and national levels and to promote a greater understanding of energy consumers' behavior.

Our Team

Our group is a multidisciplinary team of economists, social scientists, and engineers dedicated to exploring and implementing innovative solutions to our planet’s critical energy and climate challenges.

We use a range of analytical and empirical methods to explore complex energy systems and consumer behavior, drawing on insights from economics, social science, engineering, and other disciplines.

Our research is focused on using dynamic and time-varying prices, as well as non-price instruments such as information provision and feedback, to influence energy consumption behavior.
